Steppers, how I fear them
When they step on my skin
For some rub their hair
Against my own
My heart exceeds rpm
More than the sight of a fin
I’m gasping for air
And I stay still like a stone
Whether they scurry or sneak
Their steps are harshly felt
What do they want from me?
Why are they stepping by?
They are small, yet I’m made meek
As if they make my strength melt
To them, it must bring glee
When all I can do is cry
Worse is when you can’t feel their step
Because they’re too long to sense
It leaves one unaware
Of them coming for you
They come at the neck like the strep
And with one move you’re too tense
It is perhaps the worst scare
Because with that you have no clue
Steppers are menacing, small or big
As a hoard or by their lone
I don’t trust one, not one bit
I am too afraid of what they’ll do
When they step on my skin
For some rub their hair
Against my own
My heart exceeds rpm
More than the sight of a fin
I’m gasping for air
And I stay still like a stone
Whether they scurry or sneak
Their steps are harshly felt
What do they want from me?
Why are they stepping by?
They are small, yet I’m made meek
