Day 3 of my grand Scottish outing arrives, then. Will it finally be a decent day?
Actually, yes. A very decent day indeed.
Post waking-up and morning routine etc. I found out we'd be going to John O'Groats - the most northerly inhabited area in mainland Great Britain! I'd always wanted to see the place so this was big news for me. Excited, I got in our car and we set off.
Of course it was a long journey, so we stopped about 20 miles from there in the town of Wick, where we got some food. Although, this is the bit that went wrong. The café in the Tesco we visited had hardly any food left as it was 3pm! So I ended up buying ingredients for a sandwich, but by the time the rest of my family finished eating and I finished shopping, and we paid - which took ages as there was a problem with payment in front of us - it was 4 o'clock!
Nonetheless, we got there in the end, and I took some nice photos which I might post around the forum later. It was nice to see the views and I really liked it. After that, we travelled a little more, to Dunnet Head - the actual most northerly point in mainland Great Britain. (John O'Groats is only the most northerly place where people live.) There were some nice views there too. Eventually it was time to travel back, and that took a long time! 4 hours in total, just like when we went.
It was an achievement getting there and seeing the places though. So, now I've done it! And I really enjoyed today. Nothing went massively wrong and the day has been good to me. I do hope tomorrow is just as good. I liked today a lot.
