One Year On...
Well, it's been a year since I joined YouChew, & I felt like as a way of reflection, to look back at my contribution to the forums, the friends I've made & how I actually found the forums in the first place.
It was July 30th, 2014, I had recently come back to YouTube under my "BeanosOnToast2000" account, & I felt like becoming a YTP channel, since I had recently gotten back into poop, & I had even made an unpublished one using Vegas Pro 11 back in May 2013.
I think what bought me to the forums was BradDLCalt's Welsh Fireman Collab Thread, since I had watched many of videos during that time.
Another reason was due to people like him, ravinrabbid123 & RCLeahcar being members of the forum, that made me want to get in on the action.
However, the forums quickly flew out of my head, since I was focusing more on my new YouTube channel uploading VHS Openings, where I received some recognition from that community.
It was late October when I had re-installed my copy of Vegas Pro 11 on my hard drive, which gave me the ability to make more poops, (albeit rather rushed & poorly edited at that), with me becoming an official pooper, I thought now would be a good time to officially go back to YouChew.
Without any introduction, my first posts were mainly in collab related threads, where I joined in collabs like SuperUnate's Obscure Sources Collab, Kulu Otaku's Roll the Dice Collab & SpaghettiBicycle's Christmas Collab. I had also made friends with Leah, NationOfOranges & Kulu. I seemed to mean well, but there was one major flaw of me.
My naiveness of how the forum worked got me into trouble on occasion. Like how I asked for help on Vegas, without even posting it in the official Vegas thread.
Another time was when I wasn't use to how the pasting format of type box worked, the one that confused me the most was the "Paste From Word" button. I thought this meant to paste it from Miscrosoft Word, but it didn't work so I asked help, only to realise it was another usual paste button.
Feeling embarrassed & guilty, I decided to just stick to the collab threads before exploring the other threads of the forum.
Eventually, as time went on, I was introduced to people like Lavie Cestlol, TehShadzify & became quick friends with ParparPeg.
Admittedly, I kinda felt like a doormat who was there to be ignored, while the more familiar faces of the community overshadowed me, hell even Parpar, who joined the forums days after I became an active user immediately gained more recognition than me.
That, however all changed around February this year, when everyone around me started acting a little... different.
I was started to gain more recognition & attention from people like ravin, Lavie, taf & Joosh.
I also decided to change my poop style by this point, by making them shorter & try not to waste time in them. In April, I became a full fledged tenniser, & I've had matches with people like CorruptionSound & The Mountie From Hell.
I also joined skype the next month, which has allowed me to be more social-able with members, I've become friends with people like MrThisucks, fiv95, DiscoGlacier, Shadz & StePaulMe.
Looking back how I was in October last year & comparing it to how I am now, I can tell you that I feel like a happier, confident & more active member of the site, before I wrap this blog entry, I'd like to give out some big shout-outs...
Shoutouts
RCLeahcar - The first person to discover my poops. Upon discovering her channel, I can tell you that I always enjoy seeing new content from her. Her poops have such a style that doesn't get tired or drawn out, a very underrated pooper in this community. I kinda wish she had skype, as me & her have become good friends, since.
NationOfOranges696 - Another one of my earliest subscribers. Been watching his videos since mid 2013. His videos always impress me both visually & in sound too. Glad he's joined skype, as I'd like to know him more.
ravinrabbid123 - I've been watching her videos since June 2014. When I first saw her on the forums, I originally thought she didn't really care about me, but since February, me & her have becoming good friends since.
A very kind, laid back & just all the round good person to speak to, I've been familiarizing myself more & more with her, I was very surprised, yet fascinated, that she lived in Belgium for the majority of her early childhood, yet she seems a simple sort of person. I always enjoy our skype chats. It would be nice to meet her, one day, she seems to be a big sister figure, which I can very much approve of, (if I had a sister).
RyanYTP - A good friend of mine in the community. I spoke to him on skype, once. His videos always have this unique style to them, he's very active in the community too, I need to speak to him more, because his videos are so enjoyable.
DiscoGlacier - She's a member I've discovered quite recently, despite the fact she's been on the site for over 6 years. Anyways, I first spoke to her one night, because, I was bored.
Since our first skype talk, she's been one of the kindest & most helpful people that I've ever met. She's also a person I can very much relate to, a video editor who's taken a back seat at writing & such.
She's also a fantastic cosplayer & puts so much effort into her costumes & looks. I also really enjoy our discussions about conventions, she seems to go to a lot of them.
I was also surprised how much she knew of the British Dennis the Menace, considering how she's from the USA, plus she suggested I do a collab of all media related to the British Dennis the Menace, so I thank her very much for that one.
She just seems someone who doesn't really loose her cool, I had doubts upon meeting her, but, she's a very sweet person, actually.
Joosh - Now Joosh was actually one of the earliest people I met on the forums & my first impressions on him were; "Wow, he seems a very kind person" & sure enough, he is.
Although, we've rarely spoken to each other on the forums & on skype, I can tell you that he's definitely in my good books. He's also extremely helpful on the forums, too & always has good tips on doing collabs & other stuff, too.
I wish to speak to him more in the future, because, he's definitely someone today's society should look up to.
fiv95 - I first discovered his channel back in November 2014, he was actually subscribed to me once, but, we never seemed to be very familiar with each other...
Until earlier this month, when I asked for his skype name to add him, & boy did things change for the better...
Other than producing visually stunning poops, I also noticed some of his art, which I've always liked the kind of abstract style. People sometimes say to me that my art-style actually reminds me of Gabs', which I find rather surprising.
In conclusion, fiv's definitely an artist who I can relate to. I thought at one point I was the only one who broke away from the anime/magna inspired style, but I'm glad there are people who choose to break away from the in crowd, sometimes.
Geibuchan - One of the greatest poopers known to man kind, I actually got all giddy when he upvoted some of my art, because, usually you don't really expect the most famous poopers to recognise your work, let alone, like it.
His videos are always eye-candy, very simillar to fiv95's, except Geibuchan tends to go a bit further, (animations, image editing & top notch sentence mixing).
He's definitely someone who belongs in the animation industry, someone unique & also a fantastic artist.
theadventuretimefan - Me & taf have spoken a few times on skype & like Joosh, he seems to be a very friendly person.
I've always loved his videos since I watched "Everybody Dies Except for Me and Boris Elstin AKA Everything Existed in 2002: Taf Edition".
I'm also glad he's starting to get into the YTPMV community, he seems to be doing a fine job at it.
LaVie CestLol - Ah, LaVie. I think I first found his channel in late November. At first, I never really saw interest in his videos & didn't understand why they were so liked by everyone else.
To add to that, I saw him critiquing one of my poops & always thought that he had a bad impression of me.
That changed, however, when he saw one of my other poops & found a good chunk of it good.
I also became more & more fascinated by his videos by now & his match with ravin was one of the best matches in the history of Tennis.
Since, then, I recently added him on skype, because, I feared he was always busy, until taf explained that he's always like that, we tend to talk on skype quite often & he was the first person I added in my skype group chat, so we're both on good terms, now.
MrThisucks - Like DiscoGlacier, I added this guy because I was bored & I've had various discussions with him.
Admittedly, I was kinda worried at what he thought of me, but, surprisingly, he himself admitted he was worried, so you could say we were on the same boat.
I remember one morning at 5:00 British Time, we both had a talk with each-other, it went well & I've since enjoyed our little talks, decent fellow, I think.
TehShadzify - I first saw Shadz since he posted a critique on one of my poops & from the moment I saw "Michael Rosen expresses his distaste of equines", I've been hooked on his videos ever since.
Like fiv & LaVie, he's a common tenniser, the day I see him & ravin have a match, I'll go crazy, (OK, not literally, but you get the idea).
He's also a G-Mod artists like MoBrosStudios. While I have no interest in that software, from what I've seen he's a very good one at it.
I hope to tennis him one time, but it's really a matter of time, I think.
DrHotelMario - I think this guy started noticing me I soon as I posted my entry for his Micheal Rosen 69th Birthday Collab, which he really liked.
Since then, he's subscribed to my YouTube channel & he's entered my Stuart Ashen YTP Collab, (which I hope to get out sometime in August), he's also one of the few popular poopers who's subscribed to me, along with Ryan & Nation.
*Phew!* So that's it, my first blog entry done. I apologize if this dragged on a bit, but I felt I had a lot of things to say about my time on the forums both then & now.
Before, I go, I just want to say, thank you all very much for making me welcome on the forum & for introducing yourselves to me, because I can tell you, that I've finally met a community I can relate to & with me joining skype, I have even further connections with you.
I do think I've come a long way from being a niave & reckless shitposter, to an abstract artist who feels confident in showing what I can really do.
But, I have a question to all you guys... Do you think I've changed since I joined the forums, because, I really appreciate feedback in helping me to improve.
Until then, keep calm & don't put your Beanos On Toast.
