In this part, I conclude my battles with the Elite Four.

Last time on Darkie Does Nuzlocke, I grinded and grinded, until I was unable to grind anymore. I bravely marched to challenge the Elite Four. Lorelei was rather tough, although I was able to come through without any casualties. Bruno was hilariously one-sided, and he couldn’t get a single hit in on me. Now, I face Agatha, Lance, and Dongles.
Agatha opens with Gengar, while I open with RNGsus. RNGsus uses Psychic, which makes quick work of Gengar. She switches to Golbat, while I switch to MIRACLES to give RNGsus a break. Golbat opens with Confuse Ray, as expected. However, MIRACLES manages to come through, one-shotting Golbat with a Thunderbolt. Clearly, Agatha does not know how magnets work. Agatha uses Haunter next, which gets one-shot by Psychic. She switches to Arbok, while I switch to ShortStack, once again giving RNGsus a break. I open with Earthquake, which takes out about half of Arbok’s health, while Arbok opens with Screech. Bad move. I hit with Earthquake again, taking Arbok out for the count. Her final pokemon is a higher level Gengar. I bring out RNGsus once more. Despite a slightly lower base speed, RNGsus manages to get the first move in. And with one mighty Psychic attack, her Gengar goes down for the count.
With none of my pokemon harmed, I move on to Lance. I put my best foot forward. He starts with Gyarados, while I start with MIRACLES. He opens with Dragon rage, dealing about a third of MIRACLES’s health, while I open with Thunderbolt, taking Gyarados out with little issue. He switches to Dragonair #1. I switch to Kahuna. I use Ice Beam #1, which does most of Dragonair’s health. Dragonair opens with Safeguard. Lance uses a full restore, while I hit with Ice Beam again, which crits and takes out Dragonair. He sends out Dragonair #2. I use Ice Beam once more, while he hits me with a Thunder Wave. I manage to get one more Ice Beam off, while he uses Outrage, taking about a third of Kahuna’s health. He switches to Dragonite, while I keep Kahuna out. Kahuna uses Ice Beam, taking out most of Dragonite’s health, while Dragonite opens with Outrage, taking out a good chunk of Kahuna’s health. I make an emergency switch to AngryDragn, who takes the next outrage and kills Dragonite off with Dragon Claw. Lance finally switches to Aerodactyl. I switch to MIRACLES once more, who couldn’t have a better type matchup. Aerodactly opens with Ancientpower, which does jack shit against MIRACLES. MIRACLES responds with a Thunderbolt, which one-shots Aerodactly, finishing off Lance.
So with Lance out of the way, only one more challenge remains. The one, the only, Dongles.
He opens with Pidgeot, while I open with MIRACLES. Pidgeot uses Aerial Ace, doing virtually nothing to MIRACLES, while I one-shot Pidgeot with Thunderbolt. He switches to Arcanine, while I switch to Kahuna. I hit him with a Surf, almost one-shotting him. He switches to Exeggutor, and I hit with another surf, taking about a third of its health off. I switch to AngryDragn, while he hits with Sleep Powder. Charizard refuses to wake, up as he gets hit with egg bomb. And gets hit with it again. And again. And again. And again, causing Charizard to perish. I switch to Kahuna, hoping to take Exeggutor out with Ice Beam. However, I get no such luck. Exeggutor almost dies, but manages to get off a Giga Drain, taking Kahuna out. I switch to Blaze it, and start spamming Acid. The first one almost kills him and lowers his defense. Dongles uses a Full Restore. After 3 more acids (and many missed Egg Bombs on his end), Exeggutor perishes. He switches to Alakazam, while I switch to ShortStack. I hit with an Earthquake, almost taking Alakazam out. He counters with a Psychic, one-shotting ShortStack. I switch to RNGsus, which gets a revenge kill with Psychic. He switches to Arcanine, while I keep RNGsus out. He opens with a Full Restore, while I open with Psychic, It takes out about half of Arcanine’s health, but also lowers its special defense. I decided against using any PP restoration items beforehand, so I can no longer use Psychic. Thankfully, Psybeam does the trick. He switches to Blastoise, while I switch to MIRACLES. I hit with Thunderbolt, taking out most of Blastoise’s health and paralyzing him. However, he doesn’t get stunned and hits back with Hydro Pump, one-shotting MIRACLES. I switch to Blaze It, who gets a revenge kill via Giga Drain. I have 2 pokemon still alive (RNGsus and Blaze It), while Dongles has one pokemon remaining. So with a hope and a prayer on his end, he sends out Rhydon. At this point, there’s really no way he can win now. I open with Petal Dance, which is more than enough to one-shot Rhydon.
And with that, I did it. I became champion. I lost many friends in the process, but, as a wise pokemon once stated, this was all happening for a reason. Indeed, this was my destiny.
Dramatic shenanigans aside, this was a hard-earned, (almost) down-to-the-wire victory. Since the game cannot save properly, I can’t do the postgame content, nor did I really have any drive to. Losing most of my group killed off any motivation I would have had.
So with that, I close this tale. Perhaps I’ll do another Nuzlocke run sometime down the road? Only time will tell.
