In my current video-making craze, I forgot I had this blog or my blog of excellency. I decided "why not watch an art film or something?" leaving me with a tie on what to review and what to watch for fun. I watched It's Such A Beautiful Day and The Triplets of Beville, and guess which one I chose to review! The movie is drawn, narrated, directed, etc. by Don Hertzfeldt. You may remember him from the shorts "Rejected", "Wisdom Teeth", "Billy's Balloon" and others. He also hosted "The Animation Show" with Mike Judge for a while. The movie is about Bill, a man with (what is likely) Schizophrenia and cancer. The movie documents his life up until his death. The movie does have some humor, but is overshadowed by the sad tale of Bill. This movie managed to move me to tears in the final scenes. Keep in mind, this movie features stick figures. The non-stick figure art is either disturbing, funny or beautiful and is thrown in at random times. I rate this movie a 10/10 as it is a masterpiece and is one of my favorite drama besides Flowers for Algernon.
