News: ETF2L has started their own fundraiser for the first community crowdfunding system for Season 20 powered by Tt eSPORTS. The purpose of this fundraiser is to allow members of the ETF2L community to contribute directly to the Season 20 prize pool and help make Season 20 the biggest yet!
The fundraiser will run throughout the season, with prizes finalised Sunday March 1st. Because of this they cannot promise any exact prizes for tiers until this date. However they can guarantee the minimum prizes for Premiership teams:
Funds and Items raised through the fundraiser will be used for prizes in all four tiers – Premiership, High, Mid and Open. Prizes for everyone! Clearly they do not know exactly how much will be raised, but their aim is to provide cash prizes for Premiership, High and Mid with at least item prizes for Open.
Updates:
ETF2L has also announced their map pool for Season 20, by making one of the biggest changes in the history of this league, as they are removing cp_granary from the map pool and replacing it with cp_sunshine_rc5 instead. TF2 is a changed game, and they feel that cp_granary has served it's time already so it's time for a new map to come already in use.
The map pool consists of these 7 maps with 2 of these maps played on each week:
The tables for Premiership division can be found here: http://etf2l.org/leagues/6v6-season-20-premiership-table/
And as well the tables for teams in High, Mid and Open divisions can be found here: http://etf2l.org/leagues/6v6-season-20-tables/
Personal opinion:
I am really glad to hear about the community crowdfunded fundraiser for the season's prize pool, it really gives a new turn to how in current seasons there has been a same amount of money prizes always for top 3 teams in Premiership and always the Tt eSports prizes, but now with a turn on having more money provided by the community.
Of course I am not focusing on earning any of the prize pool as for Open division teams it's mostly only item prizes, and Mid having some amount of money, while High having even more than that of course.
The map pool is excellent, I've never liked Granary that much even if it is a classic and a very oldschool map, but it's has been played for far too long time already without any intention to replace it, until now with Sunshine that has been long time wanted to be in ETF2L already. Logjam is still great to have as well since it has improved a lot since the version from last season. All other maps are still very great to play, especially Badlands and Gullywash when they fit so well to the format.
The whole premiership does look very promising to me, not only are there very great teams from last season, but as of now there aren't any bad ones that wouldn't get a single point, unless if LEGO again wants to throw premiership so they can keep on winning the second highest division couple times more already. "L'Avant Garde de Plouvorn" was not announced to be in this season until "Publiclir.se" (Sweden) wanted to drop out of the premiership playoffs, showing that who is really worthy of playing in Premiership and who will go to High instead, sad to see that as I had my thoughts that Publiclir.se would at least try in this season.
So far there really are no bad things to say about this season, it's all about what you want to do since you have the option to raise funds to make the prize pool bigger if you want and your opinion on what to think about the maps as you play them, very excited to hear what else is about to happen during the season!
