Up there, in the skies above
Once was the a wonder of nature
It was from a king to his love
Naturally an expensive gesture
There once was an isle afloat
Circled his kingdom every week
With it, he found his way to dote
The only woman he thought wasn't bleak
So he sacrificed his gold
Told his men to bring it there
He asked for only the most bold
For the trip was something to beware
They climbed to the top of the castle
And waited for the isle to come round

Getting them and the gold there was a hassle
But they made it to where they were bound

Afterwards they built a tall tower
Using all of their great power
To make the gold soft as flour
Turn it to bricks, took many a'hour
Until finally it stood, in precious glory
He showed her it, hoping she'd be cheery
But alas, she was not, it made him dreary
And the workers upon hearing felt very bleary

She said it ruined the isle, made it ugly
It was a statement of greed and of vanity
She left with a peasant, who smiled so smugly
And left the king there to utter every profanity
For the next few days, he stared at the two
Who were in tune with the earth much like a Pagan
As the isle made its way, his confusion only grew
"God, please tell me, who did I forsaken?
I got the best in the land to help make the token
They made my kingdom stand, I am thankful for them
It's beautiful what I see, but my heart is broken
How can I love it, if all she did was condemn?"
The king looked at his land, shaped by the chisel
Statues, houses, towns, and many more to say
Yet to her and the peasant, such things were drivel
In the fields of green they'd much rather stay

The years went by, the king still upset
Maidens adored him, but he'd never beget
His kingdom grew too, it was often beset
Still, that tower above made him regret
The king, his love and her lover passed on
His land was set ablaze, their riches all gone
But still, every day from the beginning of dawn
The light of the tower shined on, stronger than Khan

Centuries pass, and the land was left alone
But then the isle crashed, right in the middle
Those nearby felt a shock, and were overblown
They went to center, following each ripple
And then they saw the king's grandious gift
It was a marvel, full of gems and still intact
They fixed the land around from the tectonic shift
Patched up every single acre that was cracked
Every corner of the world came to see this wonder
All of them admired the work and the detail
Everyone wondered why was this a blunder
Until a historian deciphered a message as cryptic as braille
"My love, the isle with magical earth is truly great
But this tower is a feat of my undying passion
You trusted it in from afar, I hope it was worth the wait
Up close you should see my sincerest compassion"
